Since 1997, Savonnerie has specialised in producing extremely elegant traditionally handmade natural bathing products enriched with the power of plant ingredients in place of synthetic additives.

Your skin works hard and it's worth looking after but that doesn't have to mean plain body care products. At Savonnerie we believe in producing beautiful products, handmade, using traditional methods with a loving care and attention that makes bathing an experience to enjoy. Because, as well as treating your body to natural skincare, you can spoil yourself at the same time with luxurious, indulgent and gentle skincare that's as special as you are.

A “Natural” label doesn't mean 100% natural.

The power of plant ingredients has been known for a long time and their use in health and skincare their beneficial and therapeutic effects can be traced back thousands of years. While we at Savonnerie certainly don't support the idea that everything synthetic is bad we do believe there are certain ingredients found in the majority of mass produced products you not might wish to use. Even if an ingredient is suspect then at least you have the choice to avoid it if you wish, ultimately, “Skin Care” products should only include ingredients that actually “Care” for your skin.

All Savonnerie products are completely natural and avoid the use synthetic ingredients such as:

Parabens –   preservatives used in food and cosmetics, generally regarded as safe and non-toxic however some recent small studies have suggested there may be a link to premature ageing of skin, reduced fertility and breast cancer and that further research should be undertaken.

SLS/SLES – such as Sodium Lauryl Sulphate and Sodium Laureth Sulphate. Known skin irritant often used in clinical studies to induce skin irritation, commonly used in a wide range of products such as shampoo, shower gels, bodywashes, engine degreaser and floor cleaners etc. 

Artificial fragrances – we only use premium essential oils for their powerful therapuetic effects on the skin and scents that simply surpasses cheap fragrances

Synthetic colours – listed as CI numbers in ingredients
