It's becoming more and more important for suppliers and producers to implement sustainable business practice. As with everything we do we believe consumers should have a choice and at Savonnerie we have for years invested wholeheartedly in a sustainable policy. While we choose materials that are biodegradeable and recyclable for use in packaging and shipping products and in the office, where possible we select products with a high proportion of post consumer recycled content.

We operate a low waste, high recycling policy within the business and even reuse packaging from our suppliers to ship trade orders where possible. We only purchase premium quality ingredients from premium quality suppliers and as such are always able to make sure they are ethically produced from managed sources, our sustainable Organic Columbian Palm being one example. Our studio has recently been refitted and insulated to high standards to reduce energy consumption and our electricity is purchased under a green energy tariff. Even our kettle in the office is an eco-friendly model!

But it's an ongoing process, we can always do more and we continually look for ways to cut down on waste and produce in an environmentally friendly way. For example, we now avoid using plastic 'Documents Enclosed' envelopes on shipping cartons and we've changed the parcel tape from plastic to paper so that its now completely biodegradeable. Continual attention to small details like this go a long way.

We'll always find more ways to support our low impact business model. We don't wish to preach, everyone has their own priorities on the subject but we do believe as a manufacturer it's up to us to provide consumers with ethical, sustainably produced products.
